Each target has been carefully chosen to be observable in telescopes with apertures between four and eight inches. Most objects can be viewed from the suburbs in mildly light polluted conditions, with only a few noted exceptions requiring darker skies. On dark, moonless nights, most targets will be visible in small telescopes and binoculars too.

I was drawn to this book by the photo of Explore Scientific AR102 scope on the cover. I recently bought this little scope at a discount. It's not my only telescope, but this serves very well as my Grab 'n Go. The 50 targets in the book are well chosen. They are proper for this kind of scope and not completely overlap with other books on the market (say, any of them mentioned the Lunar X?) One problem though is that the author seems to use color inverted photos pretending to be "sketches" to show what you can expect at the eyepiece. This could be misleading, cuz many of the objects won't be resolved that well with anything under 8". Also, it doesn't say the size of the object and what magnification is the best. Some more detailed information could be helpful. Well, this is not Turn Left At Orion and doesn't meant to compete with it. For the price, it serves its purpose and I am happy with this purchase.Product details
